Mamarosh

(orig. Mamaroš)
Director: Momčilo Mrdaković

Original version with English subtitles
Running time: 105 min.

With humour and self-irony, director Mrdaković portrays a man who lives with his mother and moves abroad with her in 1999. His mother, still an enthusiastic believer in the ideology of socialism, copes with the Western capitalist world far more skilfully than her son.

Guest: Momčilo Mrdaković, director and screenwriter

Where is Nadia?

Director: Aleksandar Mandić

Original version with English subtitles
Running time: 70 min.

A father searches for his 18-year-old daughter, who has disappeared without warning. It had never occurred to the father that his daughter might run away. Searching for her, he enters for the first time a world unknown to him, a world he did not even know existed… A film with subtle humour that nevertheless asks very seriously how well parents really know their children.

With a panel discussion with Tea Lukač after the film.

The Last Philosopher

Nataša Janković | 7 min.

This experimental film is based on quotations from Friedrich Nietzsche’s book “Twilight of the Idols”. The film illustrates his thoughts on the true and the apparent world.

Proud to Be!..

Miloš Dimčić | 8 min.

The subject of this documentary is national identity. People from different parts of the world take part in the discussion and explain their point of view.

Rabbitland

Ana Nedeljković, Nikola Majdak | 8 min.

Brainless rabbits live in Rabbitland, a world perfectly modelled on the most successful war zones, ghettos and slums. They are intensely pink, have a hole in their heads instead of a brain, and are happy regardless of what happens to them…

Red Snow

Luka Popadić | 23 min.

Is it morally justifiable to torture someone who may be innocent in order to prevent a mass murder? How far may one go to save the lives of innocent people? The film deals with the inner conflict of a German Wehrmacht officer in Serbia in 1941.

The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek

Vuk Mitrović | 27 min.

Dalton is an intelligent but naive 17-year-old. Pace (18) is a fun-loving young woman with a passion for trains. She has talked him into coming to the bridge to go “train chasing” with her – a dare in which they run towards the approaching train, hoping to reach the other side before it does. While Dalton holds on to a faint hope of going to college or at least leaving their small town, Pace convinces him that this hope is unrealistic.
