Director: Mina Đukić

Original version with English subtitles

As children, Leni and Lazar were best friends. Years later, after a long stay abroad, Lazar returns home for his father’s funeral. Leni longs to reconnect with her childhood soulmate but has to accept that the stubborn thorn of years of estrangement cannot be removed so easily. After their meeting, they spontaneously decide to set off on a bicycle trip – either to revive their relationship or to end it. THE DISOBEDIENT is conceived as a road movie, but the real journey happens as they try to rebuild their relationship while running away from growing up and from the expectations of those around them.

Guest: Director Mina Đukić, who played a leading role in an “Occupy Cinema” action to take over the once legendary, abandoned Belgrade city-centre cinema ZVEZDA and bring it back to life.
